Contagion
The Contagion mod adds a zombie infection mechanic to PvZ Overgrowth. When a zombie hits you, there is a chance you get infected - and if the timer runs out, you die instantly. This guide explains how infection works and how to cure it.
Getting Infected
When a zombie hits you there is an 80% chance you get infected. Armor lowers this chance by up to 60% (with full Netherite). Once infected, a timer starts counting down - if it reaches zero, you die instantly.

Protection HUD
A small HUD display shows your current protection value against infections. For example, a value of 20% means roughly 8 out of 10 zombie hits will infect you. The display can be enabled/disabled and repositioned in the client config settings.

Curing the Infection
There are multiple ways to deal with the infection, from a quick fix to a full cure.
Quick Fix: Drink Milk
On our server, drinking milk will immediately stop the infection. This is the easiest option if you're in a pinch and have a bucket handy.
Step 1: Get Contagious Flesh
Kill zombies - there is a 7.5% chance they drop Contagious Flesh. The Looting enchantment adds 2.5% per level.

Step 2: Smelt into Heated Zombie Flesh
Cook the Contagious Flesh in a furnace to get Heated Zombie Flesh, which is no longer contagious.

Step 3: Craft Gold Streaked Zombie Flesh
Combine the Heated Zombie Flesh with Gold Ingots to get Gold Streaked Zombie Flesh. Eating it resets the infection timer, but does not cure you.

Step 4: Brew The Cure
Combine Gold Streaked Zombie Flesh with an Awkward Potion in a brewing stand to get The Cure.

Step 5 (Optional): Extend the Cure
Add Redstone to The Cure to create Cure Potion II, which lasts 3x as long.

|---|---|
